Prior to Covid, a Christmas party was held at Adonai each year and as part of the festivities the sponsored children were given gifts funded by their sponsors. This year, Ebola threatened to stop the return of the party with Ugandan schools closed 2 weeks early and lockdowns in some areas. However, we are delighted to report that Aloysious gained the relevant permissions and instead of a party, hosted a camp.
The camp took place from Dec 4th to Dec 6th. Aloysious tells us that it was a time of reflection, celebrating each other, counselling, learning and relearning. There was also plenty of eating, dancing, praying and worshipping. Local traders delivered goods to the centre and the children were able to select a gift of appropriate value. (Christmas gifts are always something useful e.g. clothes, school bags, blankets.)
A HUGE thank you to Adonai UK supporters for funding this very special time along with food parcels of fresh beef to local families in need.
