Four amazing people from the Tadley churches – Janet, Paul, Christine, and Bryan – visited Uganda in November and worked tirelessly to repair, restore and renovate the children’s accommodation as well as providing many other services. Aloysious has sent us this list of their achievements at Adonai:
- Renovation and installation of ceilings in two girls’ dormitories, including Jajja Penny House, the first children’s house at Adonai Centre. This has fully resolved the severe rat infestation, which had been causing skin injuries to the children’s heels, toes, and fingers.
- Provision of urgently needed furniture, including tables, chairs, and cupboards.
- Repair and restoration of the water system—work that would have cost us a great deal was fully funded and completed through their support.
- Painting of the boys’ dormitory and the nursery section, with most of the work personally carried out by Christine and Janet.
- Janet personally led dental and oral hygiene care for school students, providing education and preventive guidance.
- Training of Village Health Teams (VHTs) was conducted, equipping them with practical skills for community health follow-up and sustainability.
- Christine and Janet led Bible study sessions, contributing meaningfully to the children’s spiritual growth and overall discipleship.
Decorating
The team painted 4 classrooms at Adonai, 10 dormitories at New Horizon (a related project), and the outside of the boys’ dormitory building at Adonai.

Carpentry and Plumbing
Paul and Bryan made 10 shelving units for classrooms and dormitories, rebuilt 6 desks and 12 chairs and did a lot of plumbing and water supply repairs.
